Sock/Underwear Drive
We provide every child referred to us with two new pairs of socks and underwear. This represents about 15% of our total budget. We would love to have your school, church, or workplace hold a sock/underwear drive to support the Clothing Closet. Gift Card
You may purchase a greeting card for $10 that honors the recipient by informing them that an outfit for a needy child has been purchased in their name. These cards may be purchased online and are available in themes for Christmas and for any occasion. Please visit our page about greeting cards for more information.
Clothing
We regret that we are unable to accept used clothing for direct distribution to the children we serve. We are happy to accept these items to include in our annual children’s consignment sale, with the proceeds benefitting the Clothing Closet. Through the decades of operating the Children’s Clothing Closet we have found that it is overall cheaper and more efficient to purchase and distribute only new clothing. We have negotiated discounts with major retail chains and also receive direct donations of new clothing from manufacturers. By committing to distributing only new clothing, we are able to ensure that every child referred to us receives two high-quality, brand-new complete outfits which they may feel proud to wear.
